Hello to all of you!
Let’s start with what augmented reality means to us. Augmented reality is a technology that allows users to see video, pictures, and 3D models and animations in a 3D environment based on real-world components. AR gives your devices new opportunities to aid you throughout your day by allowing you to interact with digital material in the same way you interact with the real world. It allows you to visually search for items by just pointing your camera at them. We can have accsess AR Through QR codes, Trigger images, Markerless AR apps and GPS location.
Now that we have discussed what AR refers to, we can move on with how to utilize it in the field of teaching English. To be able to create an AR Integrated Teaching Material, we worked with Defne. The goal of employing AR in the classroom in ELT is to help students learn English more successfully. You can watch the related video to better understand it benefits:
It has several educational benefits,
including as role-playing, creating and programming stuff, and encouraging
dialogic learning and social engagement. Learners can use virtual environments
to make errors without the consequences of their actions, as well as to
encounter circumstances that would be ethically or practically challenging, if
not downright hazardous, to experience before they are qualified. We were
supposed to choose a city abroad and explore it by implementing AR technology.
The main issue we struggled during the process was to find a free app for it.
In a nutshell, I think this technology will play a very important role in
education if the application problem is solved. That's all for now. Keep in touch for further posts!
